Top things to do in Liverpool: World Museum

Liverpool Museum - Free entry! Open daily 10am - 5pm

From the sea to the stars, a visit to World Museum reveals millions of years of the Earth’s history through thousands of exhibits and hands on activities.

Find out how humans have created the world we inhabit. From Africa to the Americas, Asia and Europe, the World Cultures gallery uncovers the customs, objects and achievements that have shaped our civilisation. Look out for the Ancient Egypt gallery where our collection of Mummies, jewellery, clothing and household objects are amongst the finest in Europe, bringing this age old civilisation to life.

Discover the wonders of the natural world in the Clore Natural History Centre, packed full of mounted and preserved specimens of all types of animals, as well as rocks, minerals, fossils and plants. The Aquarium is home to fish from Australia to Anglesey, while an array of creepy crawlies live in the Bug House. Then, blast off on a spectacular journey through space and time as the universe unfolds around you in the Planetarium. The feat of sending rockets and people into space and the explorations that have yielded the secrets of our Solar System can be found here. Tickets and information available at the information desk.

End your visit with a well earned break in either of World Museum’s two cafes. On the ground floor you’ll find the Espresso Bar, which serves sandwiches, cakes and light refreshments. On level five, a larger cafe that serves main meals can be found, while on level four, a picnic area is also available with a drinks machine. There are two gift shops on the ground floor stocking an array of toys, books, games, models and other souvenirs to remind you of your visit.

Lime Street station is a 5 minute walk away.
